Group presentations.
When talking together as a group, some interesting things came up in preperation for the group presentations we needed to do in our Tuesday seminar. One of which was our intentons as producers of the work in terms of how we wanted the work to be understood and why...
Must remember to go to this...
'Eleven students from the Slade School of Fine Art make work for the windows of the furniture store Heal's, creating installations, some of which invite audience participation. Among the exhibits are Alex Springer's cameras made from homewares products and a knitted structure by Cansu Aladag.' - Time out
Firenze... that's Florence in Italian!
I went to Florence for 4 days over the weekend just gone.... photos below.
Francesca Woodman.
So annoyed I missed Francesca Woodman show at Victoria Miro Gallery. Interesting, that her face was always obscured in some way and the link between the artist and the art in that she is both the subject and the artist, shown with the clicky camera thing. There is conflict, but it's not intimidating. Envokes an emotional response, but not overwhelming. Maybe the right kind of information, not too much, not too little, shows vulnerability, troubled, feminine, young, thoughtful woman... So so annoyed I missed it...
