Applying water to the canvas first, and then adding ink allowed the ink to spread over the fabric of it's own accord. different colours merged to create new colours. Whilst still engaging with the element of chance and an emerging engagement with time also, these pieces still feel too contrived, too unnatural, to controlled. Applying the water first seems too forceful, too harsh a push for the ink to do something, too much like desperation rather than an exploration of the materials natural ability to create and move itself.
